Description & Details
Who is Snow White?
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is Disney's first animated feature film, released in 1937 and based on The Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Snow White is a princess who lives with her vain stepmother, the Queen. Concerned that Snow White might surpass her beauty, the Queen forces her into servitude as a scullery maid and daily asks her Magic Mirror who is the fairest of them all. For years, the Mirror responds that the Queen is, much to her satisfaction. However, one day, the Mirror declares Snow White to be the fairest. That same day, Snow White meets and falls in love with a prince who hears her singing. The jealous Queen orders her Huntsman to take Snow White into the forest, kill her, and bring back her heart in a jeweled box. However, unable to carry out the act, the Huntsman begs for her forgiveness and reveals the Queen’s intentions. He urges her to flee into the forest and to never return. Lost and frightened, the princess befriends forest creatures who guide her to a quaint cottage deep in the woods. Discovering seven small chairs in the dining room, she assumes the home belongs to seven orphaned children. With the help of the animals, she cleans the house and prepares a meal. The home, however, belongs to seven kind dwarfs who work in a nearby mine and with whom Snow White forms a fun and truthful friendship. Exploring the Snow White statue: Seated gracefully on her long yellow dress on top of a large tree trunk in a lush forest, a young woman with ebony-black hair and snow-white skin, blessed with impeccable and enchanting beauty, wearing a navy blue bodice adorned with gold trim, puffed sleeves in shades of blue, red, and white, and a high white collar with a black cape lined in scarlet on her back, seeks refuge in the forest while surrounded by woodland creatures. Cradling two small hares in her lap, she is accompanied by squirrels, a fawn, and a blue jay perched delicately on the fingers of her right hand, her kindness and purity of spirit bring comfort and trust, allowing the animals to gather around her without fear. Resting on an intricately detailed diorama base featuring references such as the sculpted visage of her wicked stepmother on the rocks below and a beautiful yet deadly golden enchanted apple, the statue is inspired by the masterful painting "With a Smile and a Song" by Heather Edwards.
Iron Studios proudly presents the "Snow White by Heather Edwards - Disney - Deluxe Signatures" statue, inaugurating the Deluxe Signatures series, which portrays the finest works of painted art into meticulously detailed three-dimensional sculptures.
